Government

The City of Combine is a Type A General Law Municipality.

The Combine City Council consists of a Mayor and five council members, elected to two-year staggered terms.  Regular City Council meetings occur on the 4th Monday of every month at 7:00 pm at City Hall.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend.  Citizens are welcome to sign up and make comments at the beginning of each meeting.

General Election Information
City elections are held every May. In odd numbered years, there are two council member positions and the Mayor position up for election.  In even numbered years, there are 3 council member positions up for election.  To run for office you must:

  • Be a citizen of the U.S.
  • Be at least 18 years old on the date of the election
  • Have lived in Texas for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the filing date for the election, and inside the city limits of the City of Combine for at least 6 months prior to the filing date for the election.

May 6, 2023 General Election
There will be 2 council member positions  and the Mayor up for election.  A Candidate packet which includes an  Application for a Place on the Ballot can be obtained by clicking the link on the left or by coming by City Hall during regular business hours at 100 Davis Rd., Combine.
